This Spring, Drayton celebrated the launch of the TRV4 Anthracite, the latest addition to the popular range of thermostatic radiator valves.

Drayton has welcomed the new £2bn grant scheme announced by the Government, enabling homeowners and landlords alike to apply for vouchers to make their homes more energy efficient.
Set to go live in September, the ‘Green Homes Grant’ sees the Government offering to cover two thirds of the cost of energy saving home improvements, including heating controls. Consumers will be directed towards accredited local suppliers alongside a list of recommended approved energy efficiency measures.

Here at Drayton the welfare of our team and customers is of utmost importance. We are continuing to follow government guidelines and we are closely monitoring events to avoid any unnecessary disruption for our customers.

Whilst the image of climate change lends itself to plastic straws and old diesel cars, the carbon emissions that come from keeping our homes warm are often forgotten.

It’s certainly a fitting time of year to discuss heating. Temperatures have already dropped significantly and many of us have switched on the heating to warm our homes.  Unfortunately, in most cases, this heat doesn’t come from a low carbon source. Instead, it is provided by high carbon fossil fuels which are installed in 84% of homes across the country.

Amidst all the mayhem surrounding Brexit, we have seen some groundbreaking commitments from the Government when it comes to climate change and whilst many decisions have done the opposite, the announcement of Net Zero by 2050 has put us in a good light. Not only has the Government legislated an ambitious climate target but by being the first major economy to do so, the UK has set a precedent for the rest of the world to follow. However, Government action on climate change will not be measured on ambition.

For the past five years, Drayton has operated as Zero to Landfill from its site in Plymouth, going over and above IOS14001 (Environmental Management System), which means all waste and rubbish are recycled either in the factory or elsewhere.
